VESPA is back with a bang. I took a test on the LX 125 and can say
with confidence that it’s an amazing scooter refined in both styling and
technology. It’s going to be a new experience for Indian riders to ride
this mean machine.
There is lot of chrome on the scooter that enhances the looks and
make Vespa LX 120 better looking than any other scooter in country
today. It has a beautiful chrome appliqué on Front bumper, a Vespa
chrome grill, chrome Vespa logo, chrome mirrors, chrome handle bar ends,
chrome on suspension and exhaust, tail light chrome appliqué, chrome
pillion rider hold, and chrome lined sporty dials.
The paint job is easily the best ever on any Indian scooter and adds
to the overall looks of this Italian classic. It comes with a 3 spoke
alloy satin finish wheels and beautiful and clear indicator and
headlight. The inbuilt footrests for the pillion rider, art leather
seats with a unique stitch pattern and the footboard strips are some of
the highlights of Vespa LX125. To make long rides for both the rider and
the pillion more comfortable, LX 125 comes with wide and long seat and
massive under seat and front storage space.
My first impression when I laid my eyes on this beauty was WOW. It’s a
stunning scooter which will captivate you right from the moment you see
it. The fit and finish is world class. Vespa LX 120 is in the league of
its own. We have not seen anything like this before in India. The
speedometer has a beautiful white background with the fuel gauge and
Piaggio logo. It also houses the turn indicator; high and low beam
indicators and a digital clock.
Vespa LX125 sports a 125cc 4 Stroke, 3 Valve single Aluminum cylinder
head air cooled power plant which is the most powerful engine in its
class. The engine delivers a peak power of 10.06 PS at 7500 RPM and a
peak torque of 10.6 Nm at 6000 RPM. It has overhead cam & Roller
rocker arms, MAP sensing & Variable Spark Timing Management that
makes it the most efficient engine in Indian scoter market when it comes
to delivering top end performance and engine efficiency. Company claims
a mileage of more than 60 kmpl which is the best till date in any
Indian scooter.
Lx 125 has big and affective 150 mm dia self aligning front brake and
140 mm dia rear brake dia coupled with nylogrip tyres for better road
grip and stability. I rode the scooter on high speed to test the braking
and the road grip on uneven surface and it surpassed all my
expectations. I can say that the brakes inspire a lot of confidence when
it comes to riding on uneven and unpaved roads.
Vespa LX 125 has Monocoque full steel body construction to give added
strength to the body. The single sided trailing arm front suspension
with Antidive and dual effect hydraulic shock absorber can absorb all
the jerks and shocks that Indian roads are going to throw at this
beauty.
